Necrobase Privacy Policy


This privacy policy describes what personal data is collected by the Necrobase and how it is used.

What data is collected?

IP Address

Your IP address is logged when you make an anonymous submission. If you misuse the website then your IP will and blacklisted from the website. Logs and blacklists are not retained for more than a year.

Google OAuth

When you authenticate via Google, the Necrobase receives:

  1. A unique ID
  2. Your name
  3. Your email
  4. Your profile picture

The Necrobase only cares about your unique ID, email and your name. The profile picture is not stored. Your email is useful as a unique identifier and it, together with your unique ID from Google, are stored and used to link your contributions (eg. a written review) back to you. Your name is stored for public display; for example, a review you submitted may display "Author: your name" or similar.


How will we use your data?

IP Address Blacklist

If you misuse the website then your IP will be stored and used to blacklist you from the website for up to a year.

Google OAuth

Your Google information is used to verify that you are who you say you are and to link you to whatever content you create here.


How do we store your data?

Your data is stored on Python Anywhere's servers inside a database. Your IP address is transient information and flushed out and forgotten within a year. Your Google ID, email, and name are stored indefinitely, until you request that your Necrobase account is deleted. Deleting your account removes all trace of you from the database.
