Cookie Policy

Ours

We only use a few:

  1. Cookie consent cookie: This is generated when you click accept on cookies. If it is missing, it displays the cookie consent banner. Yes - a cookie is required to warn you about cookies. Funny, huh?
  2. Session cookie: This is generated when you log in and cleaned up when you log out or close the browser. It stores information about your current login session.
  3. Captcha cookie: This is related to the captcha system to ensure that users that aren't logged in aren't bots.

hCaptcha's Cookies

  1. hCaptcha: hCaptcha is a convenient way for users to confirm they're not bots with just a mouse click. This is much preferable to other ways like entering funky characters. It is also more privacy-safe than Google's reCAPTCHA (previously used by the Necrobase).

Google's Cookies

The website does not use Google Analytics, but it does make use of Google's services if you allow it to. These may have cookies associated with their use:

  1. Google OAuth: If you choose to log into the Necrobase using Google, this obviously involves Google and therefore tracking and cookies and whatever no doubt occur.
  2. YouTube embeds: The Necrobase is developed and run by Cheb Gonaz, a YouTuber. YouTube videos and things are embedded into the website if you accept the Google cookie stuff.

How to manage cookies?

You can set your browser not to accept cookies, and you can remove them from your browser. This is browser-dependent, and you'll need to investigate how to do it in your browser. If you completely deny cookies on this website, two things will happen:

  1. Cookie Banner forever open: The cookie banner will remain forever open because it cannot shut until a cookie is created to stop it from opening. This may annoy you, or you can ignore it.
  2. Login cannot work: You won't be able to use any of the login-related functionality on the website.
  3. hCaptcha: cannot work: You won't be able to submit anything that asks for captcha.
