Bone's Cafe | Cooking, Automation, Pixel Graphics, Co-Op, Villain Protagonist | Unknown | Unknown | Steam Description: "Bone's Cafe is a fast paced, 1-4 Players couch co-op, cooking game. Customize the layout of your kitchen to guarantee your success. Specialize your menu in ingredients and recipes to design your ultimate cafe. Put your necromancy skills to the test and raise your own undead kitchen staff."
It speaks for itself. I find it very satisfying to prepare meals for customers, and employ tactics to subtly kill a select few, using their ingredients for more recipes.
In addition to killing customers for ingredients, every 5 customers you kill gives you access to an undead minion. They come in two forms, server or chef.
The server takes orders and brings out food automatically, while the chef you must program the dish you want them to prepare. In combination, you could walk away during a shift as your skeleton staff take care of your customers. The only thing they don't do is kill customers for you, which is good because corpses cause panic among customers.
This game has a unique take. I'm really into games like Overcooked or Plate Up, and seeing the cooking genre fuse with necromancy is awe inspiring. I never knew I'd needed something so bad. It's in early access, and has quite a bit to offer already, people should check this out.

Godking: Master of Rituals | TBS/4X | Unknown | Unknown | https://store.steampowered.com/app/1229310/Godking_Master_of_Rituals/
3D version of Illwinter games: plays more like Elysium. A lot less depth, way less factions, magic is locked to the unit instead of the magic points. While less deep it is more 'grab and game' no fiddling with stats, item creation, research, etc - just pick your faction and start capturing towns. Better neutral NPCs than Elysium: if you destroy their main fortress they stop spawning 1 unit armies to capturing your stuff. Surprising 3 factions with undead: Classic undead army, bone rats and barbarians have spirit units. Other factions are all pretty neat as well, shoutout to the demon army with is a mix of Daemon Chaos/Zerg/Aliens.
Probably not worth buying right now, maybe when it eventually goes half off or if it gets some mod support, but I did enjoy myself enough to recommend it due to the gimmick of a 3D animated Dominions game. -OS

Hero's Hour | TBS (Turn Based Strategy) | Unknown | Unknown | User suggestion:
This is one of my favourite games of all time, I've sunk so many hours into this thing. It's a strategy game based on the Heroes of Might and Magic series. It accordingly has many factions you can choose including necropolis (Decay) but you honestly can't go wrong with any of the other ones. The minions are plentiful AND permanent, this time even without exploits. The game features a variety of play-styles within the factions themselves and, as if this wasn't already very nice, the dwarven (Earthen) faction also has a minor yet surprisingly strong focus on necromancy. Overall gameplay is very similar to HOMM3 but without the tedium of turn based combat, due to the real time battle simulation system it has, so I'd say games are usually quite a bit faster paced than in the prevously mentioned title. If you're a fan of HOMM I wholeheartedly recommend this to you! It's one of the most fun games I have in my arsenal. P.S.: The level of power this game lets you have is frankly ridiculous.

Icewind Dale 2 | RPG | Unknown | Unknown
Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars | 4X | Unknown | Unknown | There are three bloodlines: Dracul, Nosfernus and Moroia. Nosfernus are a clan of
Nosferatu-like creatures who are capable of raising dead.
Mix of Total War grand strategy and XCOM turn-based and grid-based combat. Necromancy can be used by all 3 factions but Nosfernus Faction is dedicated to Undead and Necromancy. It has a good variety of units and strategies such as using undead fodder units to cast sacrifice spells or use skeleton tanks to soak up damage while archers do damage from afar. Can recruit necromancer hero units who resurrect killed enemies in combat. It features fun necromancy and great undead themes.
KeeperRL | Roguelike | Yes | No | The game is fantastic and some of the minions you can have are undead ones. You can use the Necromancer26 mod to get an even more specific undead experience, but this needs some polishing. | Necromancy in KeeperRL |
Kenshi | Strategy, RPG, Sandbox | Unknown | Unknown | Hi Cheb! Loved your videos! The one about modded Fallout reminded me of this game.
It doesn't have any actual necromancy or magic but it can be modded heavily so that you can recruit people you beat and imprison in your army.
It isn't necromancy exactly but the results are almost the same.
There also is a race called "Skeletons" but these are basically sentient robots, this setting has no undead or magic (yet?). There will probably be some mods that fix this. Who knows - you might even want to make it someday. Sequel is coming out soon too.
You can esily get an army of these Skeletons with a few mods like "Recruit Prisoners" and "Wandering Squads".
Check out a series on youtube about it called "Skeleton Squad Challenge" It's about taking over a nation that hates Skeletons by using skeletons only. It also has a helpful modlist that will help you in making this game suit your "minion build" style.
I think i played it for over a thousand hours at least, it's that good.
The game includes an editor and can be modded into a completely different game, i'm pretty sure you can get unlimited minions, take over the world or do whatever the heck you want basically.
(By the way i have one little question, it might not be the right place for it though but here i go anyway - Have you considered creating a Steam community? I'd sure join it the moment i'd find it it!)
Last Epoch | ARPG | Yes | No | At the time of writing this Last Epoch is in alpha early access but it has some of the best necromancy I've ever played in an ARPG. Highly recommended.
Legends of Isenwald | RPG | Unknown | Unknown
Lifeweb | Multiplayer Immersive RPG | Unknown | Unknown | Lifeweb. A quite interesting multiplayer immersive roleplaying game set in a post apocalyptic medieval cave world.
Hunger, thirst, mood and stamina is simulated by the game. You can be depressed and hungry, insane or controlled by supernatural forces. The setting is quite similar to Arx Fatalis, being underground, or Dune/Warhammer 40k in some aspects.
You can be a necromancer via choosing the Znamak (shaman folk healer) profession and using your charisma to recruit zombies to your side, who are all players, by the way. They can engage in manual labor like digging, mining, cutting wood. Or, of course, combat. Being the minions of a znamak lets them be given weapons and armour, so it is fun for both. Znamaks can also butcher up corpses and create various mystical goodies from them, infusing a shrunken head with the skills of the former living, creating a wound-closing bracelet or even a necklace that prevents feeling afraid. There are more crafts related to this profession.
There is also the possibility of enslaving spirits using the skull of their corpse, if they have not fully passed on yet; spirits who are, naturally, players, and coercing them to help you as a witch, forcing them to use their unique abilities, like minor poltergeist powers, attracting hostile monsters, offering mortals a well deserved emotional and physical rejuvenation, appearing suddenly among the living to spread a message, and more.
You can also be a vampire, at random, and create Vampire: The Masquerade style ghouls with your blood, or just embrace them.
It is up only on weekends, and invite-only.
Lords of Solgrund | Colony Sim/RTS | Unknown | Unknown | It's a cool early development game with mechanics similar to Knights & Merchants. The mechanics before the magic are what got me interested, with the magic being the icing on top. Currently there's four schools of magic that you select before getting into a match. One of them is necromancy, which can turn corpses into zombies, skeletons or poisonous disease clouds. They also have debuff spells.
The spells they cast have cooldown, mana costs, and can only generate 1 minion at a time. But you could build a massive army of the undead if given time, or if you fielded multiple necromancers.

Low Magic Age | RPG | No | No | Low Magic Age offers a tactical, turn based party experience that will make any fan of Dungeons and Dragons feel quite at home. It has necromancy and minions, but may not satisfy you. See my video for details. A good game but unfortuantely the summons aren't super fun, especially not the undead ones. Very difficult to use, finnicky. An inferior alternative to other types of spells. | Necromancy in Low Magic Age |

Middle Earth: Shadow of War | Action RPG | Unknown | Unknown | It takes a while to become a necromancer and you need the right build and equipment. Probably won't ever investigate this, but there are good videos on the subject already.
Additional info from user suggestion: Shadow of War and its predecessor Shadow of Mordor both let you control vast armies of orc minions. But later on, in Shadow of War in particular, you gain access to several ways to raise orcs as undead minions. They are not timed although they don't follow you around so you have to raise new minions at each fort/base or wherever you fight.

Your daughter died and your wife is gone, you cant remember what has happened, who you are, or where you are but you remember her.... Your Lovely Daughter. You find a book that explains how to perform enlivening rituals allowing you to create Golem, children of animated elements and by creating them and having them develop as people they grow and you can harvest parts of the human soul from their expression of life. Necronator Dead Wrong | Roguelike, Deckbuilding | Unknown | Unknown | In Necronator you choose a commander (starting one is Death Knight), and build a deck of minion, spell, and utility cards. The objective in each encounter is to destroy the enemy forts by summoning minions which go down lanes. Minions seems to be mostly skeletons, orcish races, and demons. As you progress you pick up artifacts and upgrade cards in the deck. The gameplay loop gets repetitive quite quickly in my opinion, but because of the genre you do get to field lots of minions.
Necrosmith | Simulator/Tower Defense | Unknown | Unknown | A necromancer simulator. Reverse crawl | Turn-based tactical RPG | Unknown | Unknown | Reverse crawl is a short fun little 2D turn-based strategy RPG game.
Story:
In the game you play as The Revenant King who has recently been dethroned and killed and then brought back to life by his necromancer daughter. Now you must gather around the land recruiting new minions and strengthening your army to take back your kingdom. The story is generic and the dialogue between battles can be funny. Gameplay is mostly choosing a scenario and then choosing a group of minions that will fight in that scenario. Every scenario unlocks it’s own thing whether it’s a new minion group, a new ability or maybe new armour for the Revenant King and his daughter.

Rogue Empire: Dark Heroes
| Roguelike | Unknown | Unknown | Has a few classes and one of them is a necromancer, I haven't played that much (6-10h) or gotten far for that matter (1st shadow boss) so while it has a lot of abilities and spells I don't know them all. The steam page says you can become high level undead with legendary abilities, but I've only encountered the vampire one. Minion diversity is solid: 4 types so far but all with a purpose and a lot of abilities to enhance them.

Ruinarch | Simulation | Unknown | Unknown | In Ruinarch, you can play as a Lich, Puppetmaster (manipulative demon), or Ravager (traditional demon). The archetype determines what sort of skills you can have, with a good amount of overlap.
Minions come in a few varieties:
- Demons can be directly summoned for mana
- Wild monsters can be picked up from the environment, then put in kennels and bred. These offspring can be deployed as monsters loyal to you.
- Dead villagers can be raised from the dead, seemingly as skeletons.
- You can indoctrinate villagers into cultists, and eventually have the cultists transform into abominations.
Besides this, the character also has access to:
- Spells like meteor, rain, poison, etc.
- Afflictions with which to curse villagers, such as vampirism, zombie virus, cowardice, etc.
- Intel about the villager activities that can be shared with other villagers in order to cause discord and feed rivalries.
- Miscellaneous skills like being able to set fire to objects or zap villagers.

Fun little roguelike, you play a tiny skeleton that has to save the demon king after humans and treants come over and beat his ass. Has a genesis Kid Chameleon (OG bois) feeling where you can equip on over peoples skulls to become their class, definitely a huge variety of different classes with unique abilities, classes can be upgraded to change their look and increase their power.
Necromancy is a bit on the low tier side, minions don't last too long and are scattered through the different classes, items can bring in summons and small pets to do timed auto-attacks. There is a necromancy skill tree that you can get by stacking items with the ability but it just causes ghosts to attack enemies after you kill them. But with the right luck and items it is entirely possible to create a powerful pet/summoner build with automated small dragon pets, necromancy ghosts, dark spirits, alchemist with a auto-timed golem summon or officer class that can summon one attack/timered skeleton troops.

| 4X
| Unknown | Unknown | Info from user suggestion: 4x strategy game, something about an evil overlord and needing to ascend to godhood or something. There's a couple different factions, and you can customize what spells you can research (there's 4 magic trees, and you get 8 spell books total from those 4 trees. My guess is that each spell book gives a fractional chance to show a spell to research from it's tree).
The tactical aspect feels good, it's just like any other tactical rpg and the small scale battles don't take too long- no word on the larger battles yet. If you play the arcolich faction you get a champion that can summon units anywhere on the tactical map mid-battle for free, twice a battle. You gain something called a death charge for killing enemies, which can be used to fuel other abilities.
Spells can be generally split into 3 categories, from what I can tell. Tactical, strategic, and world. Tactical affects an individual battle, strategic applies longer term effects to an army or a city, and world applies effects to the world as a whole- either permanently or temporarily.
Spells cost mana, as I'm sure you guessed. Mana is used to progress towards the victory goal, to fuel spells, and to speed up production of units and buildings. It looks like early game mana production mainly comes from shards, which you should try your best to protect regardless if you want to win the game.
As a first impression, I feel as if it's a mix between a 4x, a tactical rpg, with the more frantic nature of xcom's campaign, and with heavy uses of magic.

Soulash | Roguelike | Unknown | Unknown | One of the many roles in the game is a lich in which you can slaughter entire villages and raise them from the dead to follow you across the world. You also have an aura which rots all wood and kills all plants meaning you can tear down entire villages just by being in them.
Cheb also has a video on this one.

Space Station 13 | Multiplayer RPG | Unknown | Unknown | Wizard (if you build him right), Cultists (can make constructs), Traitors (if you use Romerol) and a bunch of other roles can have a bunch of "Diablo 2 Necromancer" kind of gameplay, but it's a very complicated game that takes a while to really learn and it has rather simple graphics. But if you master it then it's basically multiplayer Dwarf Fortress/Caves of Qud. You will probably need to play other roles before you can really enjoy being an antagonist here, nothing helps you hunt other players more than knowing their lives inside out because you've been in their place.
Some servers have different levels with more of an open world kind of feel, if taking over a space station is not your cup of tea.
It can ruin your life though because replayability is essentially infinite, especially if you take different servers into account then you may not ever need a different game in your life. It's also free.

Spellforce 3 | RTS | No | No | Subpar necromancy. Limited and timed zombie summons. | Necromancy in Spellforce 3 |
Spellwake | Action RPG/MMO | Unknown | Unknown | This is a simple game made by two developers, using Unity and several free assets. It offers a lot of diversity and class mixing, to where you can have your own unique experience.
The necromancy is very good, as minions in general are awesome. Recently they've updated to where you need to invest a lot of your resources to make minions work, but it's well worth it. You can have up to 20 whole undead following you, and it even functions similar to PoE or Diablo 2 where your resurrected minions have the same abilities and attributes, but enhanced.

Stalker: Anomaly | Shooter/RTS | Unknown | Unknown | A free standalone mod to the Stalker games (doesn't require you to own them). The core game is a survival/shooter experience, but you can get "necromancy" by picking the zombified faction and enabling warfare. This allows you to take over territories and spawn more zombies in. You can have them in your squad, assault enemy outposts or bases with them and more.

Streets of Rogue | Roguelike | Unknown | Unknown | Has a necromancer apparently.
Sword of the Necromancer | Rogue-lite | Unknown | Unknown | You start the game by obtaining the sword, and necromantic tool, of The Necromancer, the one being who went against the gods. This tool allows you bring the dead back to life. The end goal of the game is to defeat the Necromancer, obtain their power, and revive someone dear to you.
In practice, you have 4 slots in which you can hold minions, or items. Items can be passive, such as rings or amulets, or active use, such as shields or swords. Magic may exist later in the game, but as of now I haven't seen any that the player can use.
Items can be upgraded using ore and essence found the dungeon, and minions are upgraded through use. They gain health, and damage every level, as well as gain a trait. Traits are typically something like stun resistance, or fire resistance.
Overall, this seems like a lot of fun, and it provides the option to give up a minion/item slot in exchange for having a second player. Sadly, bosses cannot be revived, though they may appear as minions in later stages and may be able to be revived then.

Tainted Grail Conquest | Deckbuilding Roguelite | Unknown | Unknown | In Tainted Grail, you explore a basic 3D overworld, getting into turn-based, card-based combat encounters, slowly building up a village of NPCs that provide permanent and temporary upgrades, and progressing various storylines of souls you have to rescue.
There are 9 classes, 3 from each faction. Classes from the same faction share the same card pools, but have different mechanics. The Moonring faction classes (Summoner, Blood Mage, Necromancer) all fight with summons, of which you can have 4 out at a time.
The summons are: abomination, fae, wyrm, and golem. Blood Mage summons blood abomination, blood fae, etc, while Necromancer summons reanimated abomination, reanimated fae, etc. Furthermore, the necromancer can summon ghouls when enemies or allies die, and can sacrifice friendly summons to create ethereal versions of them and eventually use them to power a lich form.
It takes some time to unlock all the classes, but the summoner should be available after 1 or 2 runs. While not plentiful, the minions are pretty diverse for a roguelite (5 minions for the necro, not including ethereal versions), and the 3D art is great.

its a necromancer focused game set in the 1730s where you need to delve into the dark arts of necromancy to get your revenge, but you also must deal with the consequences of becoming more powerful as a necromancer.
it seems promising and also the only game to do this with a necromancer focus

Tree of Savior | MMORPG | Unknown | Unknown | Info from user suggestion: This game has like 4 classes or so that have minion summons. The ones ive seen are all necromantic of sorts. Ive seen this game ages ago but never interested me with its anime graphics and generic looking gameplay. But I tried it, you can combine 3 classes together.
Theres a necromancer, a sorcerer, a warlock, a Bokon(?), and one more I think, that I can't recall. Necromancer gets 5 skeletons (mages, archers, warriors of your choice for a total of 5) and one big boy undead. Warlock and sorcerer get some stuff, one has 10 spirits, a familiar, some other stuff I forget at the moment. Bokon gets 8 zombies.
No idea how viable it is to be a pure summoner but its alright. The game in general though, im not a huge fan. It looks like one of those boring korean grinds, not much substance to it all, ya know? I guess it's sort of like an ARPG like Diablo in a way.

Unferat | RPG, Simulator | Unknown | Unknown | Player is a young warlock trying to take control of his village. It is possible to study necromancy, witchcraft, demonology( all of which give diverse, permanent minions including skeletons, zombies, flesh goliaths, cursed carnivorous plants, hordes of demon guardians, etc.) and other arcane arts. The game is quite difficult, but it only makes summoning of each minion feel earned.

Warcraft 3 | RTS | Yes | No | Ok necromancy for an RTS. Great campaign.
Warframe | MMORPG | Unknown | No | Research done by Discord User: Rubles. Warframe has a "Necromancer" frame. But it's a case of very poorly designed necromancy. Only up to 7 minions, they expire rather quickly (you can heal them to delay the expiration, though), and they can't really hold their own unless you invest everything into them. And they're not really undead, they're ghosts that look exactly like the enemy you ressurected them from. I got the game and went through the effort to unlock Nekros Prime (his upgraded form). While the minions do scale with enemy level, (meaning level 200 enemies get resurrected as level 200 minions, as an example) that doesnt mean they live for very long fighting level 200 enemies. Though you can ressurect special enemies that are very strong, and you can build your character to have non-expiring minions essentially, but the game just wasn't made for a "minionmancer" build.
